CSI opening after reconstruction

The reconstruction of the Centre of Scientific Information is slowly coming to a successful end, with the building due to be handed over on Friday 8 September. We can look forward to a makerspace, new workplaces, new air conditioning, replaced blinds and renovated toilets. However, once the building is handed over, there will still be a lot of work required on our part, especially installing computer equipment and moving magazines. Therefore, we will be operating in the following limited mode during the week of September 11-15:

  • Library opening hours will be from 9.00 to 15.00 every day.
  • The circulation desk will be accessible, i.e. it will be possible to deal with borrowing and returning books, registering readers and fines.
  • The free selection with books should be accessible, but access to some shelves may be temporarily restricted.
  • Study Box 4 – the new makerspace – will not be accessible. Other boxes will be made available gradually during the week. We do not guarantee any box reservations for this week.
  • Personal computers and book scanners will not be available for readers. However, working with your own laptop should be possible without restriction.
  • It is likely that at times there will be a higher noise level in CSI than is appropriate for a library.

However, with the start of term on 18 September, we should be operating without restrictions during standard opening hours.
