New library system is up and running
Masaryk University libraries transitioned to the new Discovery library platform.
Masaryk University libraries are transitioning to a new library system. What does that mean for you?
This summer, Masaryk University libraries are transitioning to a new library system. This means not only a change to the internal software librarians use in their work, but also a change to the service our users rely on to search for books and electronic information resources.
The existing domains katalog.muni.cz and discovery.muni.cz will be redirected to the Discovery service. After signing in, registered users will be able to see an overview of their current loans and submit requests to reserve or renew books. Only current loans will be transferred to the new system. Loan history, saved searches, book lists, and favourite items will not be transferred.
The accounts of active users will be automatically transferred to the new system, so there will be no need to register again. New users will register through the MU Information System (IS MU), where they will also be introduced to the relevant regulations. Users will also be able to cancel their registration in this application.
The integration of the E-prezenčka service into the new library system will be delayed. It will therefore be temporarily accessible only at the alternative address vufind.ics.muni.cz, where users will also be able to look up their loan history in the current library system.
We will let you know when the Primo service officially goes live. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
